Community Ambassadors

Our programme, Community Ambassadors Programme Edinburgh, launched in Autumn 2017, built on the achievements of our CP Investigates Bullying work. CP Investigates Bullying supported children in 8 Edinburgh primary schools to explore what a rights-based approach to bullying would be like. At the heart of the children’s work was the importance of relationships based on human dignity, empathy, kindness and trust.

Working with 5 of our partner schools, children developed a programme for adults in their communities. As Community Ambassadors, the children reached adults across the community, helping to ensure that community members had the capacity to promote and protect the rights of children to be healthy, happy and safe.

The Community Ambassadors used a blog to track and share their work, a legacy of this can be found at the link bit.ly/CPambassadors.

Our learning through the Community Ambassadors programme fed into our later work around the Edinburgh Children’s Partnership and then What Kind of Edinburgh?

This project was funded by the Young Start Lottery fund.
