Education Reform

Supporting the Scottish Government to embed children’s voices within education policy.

Supportive means being there for someone, even when things are hard.

The aim of this partnership, between Children’s Parliament, Children in Scotland, the Scottish Youth Parliament and Young Scot, was to deliver a series of ‘huddles’. These collaborative spaces enable children and young people to consider specific thematic areas identified by Scottish Government.

Encourage us, believe in us.

The collective views and experiences shared through each huddle have been collated into a report, which highlights shared messages, priorities, and recommendations. Shared with Scottish Government’s education reform policy makers, these documents help to ensure children’s voices are at the centre of education policy.

In 2021/2022, Children’s Parliament was engaged on behalf of Scottish Government and Professor Ken Muir to facilitate children’s participation in the Future Vision for Scottish Education process. The children’s response to the process and Prof. Ken Muir’s questions can be found at the link.
