Children and the climate crisis…resources

It’s good to listen to other children’s ideas about the planet. We might find new ways to help together.

Member of Children’s Parliament

Members of Children’s Parliament have played a central role in creating resources to help children learn about climate change and take action to look after the planet. In 2020, children told us that climate change was one of the most important issues facing them, but many felt they didn’t have enough chances to share their ideas.

In response, a group of Members of Children’s Parliament worked with us to co-create the Climate Changemakers resources. The children helped design activities, suggest ways to explore climate issues, and decide how children could share their ideas and take action.

The Climate Changemakers toolkit is based on the children’s journey as part of Scotland’s Climate Assembly and supports other children to learn about the climate emergency; to explore what Scotland can do to tackle the climate emergency, and to influence decision-makers to take climate action.

Resources from the toolkit can be accessed below.
