Member of Children’s Parliament
Members of Children’s Parliament and representatives from the Scottish Youth Parliament meet annually with Scotland’s First Minister and their Cabinet.
The meeting provides children and young people with a unique opportunity to bring the issues most important to them directly to the highest decision makers. Using Calls to Action to highlight the positive changes they want for children in Scotland.
Since 2024, Members of Children’s Parliament have paired this meeting with an annual gathering with the Scottish Government’s Executive Team. This meeting offers the Executive Team an opportunity to provide feedback to the children on the progress made regarding the children’s Calls to Action.
This process is unique in the world, highlighting Scotland’s commitment to making children’s rights a reality.
I enjoy doing this, it makes me feel included.
