The Children’s Parliament introduces children to a world of ideas and provides opportunities for critical thinking and direct engagement in mainstream decision-making process. Through creative and participative processes, children develop their self-confidence and self-esteem and begin to take up the challenge of becoming informed and genuinely engaged citizens.
Following a successful pilot period, we now seek to appoint the following member of staff:
Development Worker (Barra, Eriskay and Uists, Western Isles)
20 hrs per week, £24201 pro rata over 3 years
To develop the work of the pilot into Phase II through workshops and events in schools and the community with children, parents, teachers and other professionals. The post involves evening and weekend work and occasional trips to Edinburgh and other parts of the UK.
Professional qualification in Teaching, Community Education, Social Work or Health or ability to demonstrate extensive relevant experience essential
