TRAINING AND SUPPORT PROGRAMMECP investigates Bullying Gallery - 3

Children’s Parliament provide a training and development programme for children, parents and carers, teachers and children’s services professionals and policy makers. Our programmes are a blend of training and hands-on support, the purpose of which is to inspire dynamic and creative environments for learning about children’s human rights and participation.

The Children’s Parliament training and development programme is based on our understanding that through strong relationships, based on mutual respect children will flourish with adult guidance and encouragement. An awareness, understanding and commitment to children’s human rights provide a foundation for such relationships.

Our training and development programme has several core elements, but will always be delivered in ways which recognise the context within which children and adults learn and interact together.
Our work connects the learning we seek to promote with current policy imperatives, including Curriculum for Excellence, Getting it Right for Every Child and developing commitments to early intervention and prevention.

A final and crucial part of our approach is our commitment to creativity: by engaging with us participants, both children and adults, will be encouraged to think and behave imaginatively, the activities they engage in will be purposeful and connected to the stated objective, participants will generate something original, drawing on their contexts and what we achieve together (the outcomes) will be of value to them and their future relationships.
